Michele Lomuto

REPERTOIRE --- Armando Gentilucci  - Ai confini dell'Aurora (Corale figurato)

Ai confini dell'aurora, for trombone and piano was written in the summer of 1985 and it's dedicated to my friends Michele Lomuto and Marco Fumo. Its subtitle, Corale figurato, refers explicity to a formal geometry: the first part is slow (choral); in the middle part few melodic and harmonic nuclei, deduced from the previous section, are set in a wavy atmosphere; at last the third part represents, in some way, the synthesis of what happens previously.

The title, on the contrary, comes from sound influences marked by sweet sound(p and pp, with the exception of the middle part): a nightly atmosphere that foreshadows, but foreshadows only, the dawn.
